I met an awful lot of people who were going to vote conservative here in New Zealand. A few years ago I met an awful lot who were going to do the same in England. All of them were first time voters. I have started to ask why they want the conservatives in and have found that I rarely get a sensible answer. It usually rests on personality, hairdo or they shrug and say they want a change.???? They've barely entered the arena.
Some of the reasons given rest on money and looking after number one. You can't argue with somebody who has that attitude you just have to vote against them.
